Derailment Update - Cliff, California

11/18/2007

At approximately 3:35 PM CT Saturday, November 17, 2007 train S-CLOOIG3-14 derailed 8 cars blocking the single main track at Cliff, California. This location is approximately 100 miles north of Barstow, California.

BNSF personnel are on site and are coordinating efforts to return track back to service. The extreme characteristics of the site, on a hill into a tunnel, make estimating the restoring of the main track back to service a piecemeal process. No estimate at this time.

Customer may experience delays between 24 and 36 hours.

St. Paul Employees Help Recovering Veterans

11/15/2007

St. Paul General Office Building employees supported the troops this Veteran's Day (observed Nov. 12) by holding two weeks of fundraising events to benefit the Community Integration Program that provides needed resources to support Operation Iraq Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom patients recovering from traumatic brain injury.

This program, which is not supported by appropriated dollars, relies on community support to further rehabilitate patients as they re-learn everyday activities that we all take for granted. The program’s purpose is to help the patient transition back into their community. It teaches skills and strategies to address deficits in attention, memory, problem solving, awareness and adjustment to disability in the environment where they will be used.

BNSF employees raised $1,460 from raffles, dress-down days, bake sales, appetizer sale, treat bag sale, root beer floats and a soup luncheon. Employees raved about the soups so much that a recipe book of the soups was created and sold.
